One Small Step.
The above quote I read before and I am not sure who it may be coined to but it is kind of a general idea that makes complete sense. This statement could not be any more true for me right now. In the midst of trying to create a senior rep program, I was referred to a young couple to possibly shoot a wedding. Let me say this... I am not a wedding photographer, nor have I ever shot a wedding before. However, shooting weddings is a long term goal of mine.
I was hesitant, nervous and scared to even agree to shoot this wedding, but if wedding photography is a long-term goal of mine, then I need to start somewhere, right? It is a small step of sorts, however a wedding is a big deal. I am absolutely excited for such an amazing opportunity and to be able to work with a lovely couple, gain experience, and capture beautiful moments for my portfolio. I am amazed at the open doors that have been placed before me and I could not be any happier or any more thankful.
Although this is a small step, it quite possible may end up being one of the biggest (and best) steps of my life. I never thought shooting a wedding would come so soon, but I am telling you—something happens when you decide to follow your dreams with fierce c o n f i d e n c e. Knowing that you are meant to do something for a purpose gives you confidence in and of itself...
There are some wonderful opportunities on the horizon for me and I am so excited to see what comes of taking the smallest steps through an open door.
So, I will say to you today, as Henry David Thoreau once said, "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined."
Have a fantastic weekend, friends!
