Face Everything And Rise
I came across this quote the other night on Pinterest. It could not be any more true. I am going to be a little transparent, a little raw on today's post, because well, I need it.
"Everything you want is on the other side of fear." But what exactly does that mean? For me, in this current season, it means a lot. For me, fear is getting in my way. Fear is my hurdle I must jump over. Fear is my enemy trying to deter me from my dreams. I don't know about you but sometimes fear sneaks in, creeping it's way into my goals and dreams telling me " you can't do it".
Fear is something that I hate. Hands down—all cards on the table, I have an issue with fear. I remember an acronym I once saw: False Emotions Appearing Real, and that is very true. Most times the fears that I have are most times irrational ones. Which brought to mind a quote from the movie After Earth, where Cypher, played by Will Smith, states this to his son Katai, played by Jaden Smith :
Fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future...but fear is a choice. We are all telling ourselves a story and that day mine changed.
Fear is a choice. We can choose to let fear get the hold of us or we can do something about it. I don't want to be friends with fear but somehow, it sticks around. Perhaps it's a fear of failing. Perhaps it's a fear of not creating successful business. Perhaps it's the fear of not being able to hold my own in the industry...
But just as I wrote in a previous post, I am my own problem in this. I can choose to let fear stick around and belittle me, hinder me, and knock me out of focus, OR I can kick fear in the face, hard...TWICE, and move f o r w a r d. I think I'll choose the latter. There's another acronym for fear that I once heard, and it is: Face Everything And Rise. That seems like a game plan—to face those fears and r i s e above all of them proving fear wrong.
If something is holding you back from achieving and reaching your dreams and goals, FEAR...Face Everything And Rise.
Are you with me?
Enjoy your day!
