Blog-Tember Challenge MashUp.

It has been so busy on my end these last couple of weeks. I have sat down multiple times to  write the blog posts I decided to do, but  something always came up. However, here I am doing a bit of a blogtmeber mashup with a couple of posts rolled into one.

Post MashUp For:

September 26th How have you changed in the past year?

September 28th What were your highs and lows for this month?

September 30th -Today A farewell coffee date.

It has been quite the journey over the last year. August marks two years since I have been in a new city, a new state, a new atmosphere. This New England city girl who is used to traffic, tall buildings, and  multiple-floor malls has started to like the calm, friendly, relaxed atmosphere of Happy Valley.  But I will always be a New Englander!

Since moving here and trying to find my place, I have learned a lot about myself as an individual. I have learned a lot about myself on a lot of different level; personally, spiritually, relationally, and socially. There were definitely days where I wanted to pack up and go back to New England where everything is familiar and my friends are close by, but if it is one thing that I learned over the past couple of years of being here, it is to grow where you are planted. It's no accident we "just so happened to end up right where we are". My husband and I have met some great people, and may have quite possibly met some life-long friends since we've been here. We have stable full-time jobs and  live in a nice neighborhood. But with the  ups, there are also some downs. Since moving here, I have had to find a different job every 3 months. Thankfully, I have been at a stable job position at a school for the last year.  But my family is still miles away and I miss them daily. However, the distance has taught me to appreciate and love them even more.

September was a quick month that seems to have flown by. School started and fall is upon us October is knocking at the door. This month definitely had some high-points and low ones at that.  The peak of my month was definitely starting my new job position as support staff at the school. It is a very different position from last school year as I now have a more personally  driven and independent role and thankfully I am excited to wake up and go to work each day. The hubby and I have gotten to know a beautiful couple whom we know will be life-long friends—and they are expecting so that is even more exciting! I was also able to get some things done for my business as far as branding an marketing are concerned and that always leaves me with a good feeling. In the midst of all the wonderful things that happened, my mother had foot surgery and I was mile and miles away unable to help. The timing was not good as school just started and it's difficult for the hubby to take off work. It hurt me to not be there for my mother. She and I are very close, I talk to her daily, if not every other day, but the fact of not being able to physically be there to help her with whatever she needed, took a toll on me. Hopefully we will be able to get up there soon for a visit, but until then, there is always Skype and FaceTime.

This blog-tember challenge prompted by Bailey Jean of Brave Love Blog has definitely helped me to be a little more personal and transparent on my blog, I was able to reflect on a lot of things and see myself in a new light. I've enjoyed the prompts she gave and I am definitely going to implementing a few of the blog prompts into my blogs. So be sure to check back and see what they are in the near future. Until next time blog-tember challenge, it's been real.

Did you participate in the blog-tember challenge? What are some of your take-aways?  Let me know in the comments.
