Currently in April

I am currently…

T R Y I N G balance and prioritize my time more. Let's face it—life gets busy. Lately, I have felt time quickly getting away from me as it is getting to the end of the school year and there's lot to be done. Between now and the the first week of June I am busy getting a yearbook finished, planning portrait sessions, prepping for a wedding, birthday parties, and more. While there might be lots to do and get done, I am enjoying it. However, I do need to try to prioritize my time and balance it and make sure I leave room to relax, regroup and refresh!

...ideas for our bedroom makeover. Living in a rental is getting old, but I thankful to have a roof over my head and have a place to call home for the time being. I don't know about you but I like to change my bedroom theme every now and then to keep it fresh.  When I found a striped comforter at  Homegoods, I knew what I wanted the theme to be—nautical. If there is a style name for modern-nautical then that is what I want it to be.  I've always loved anchors and the nautical theme with the navy blues, whites, grays, and pop of red. Plus, being a New England native, I would say it is necessary to bring a piece of it here to central PA.  I can truly say that I miss being only 10 minutes from a beach and being able to stick my toes in the ocean. (Maybe I can stand in puddle and click my heels 3 times...)  So far with this makeover, I have nightstands which I've already stained and painted the drawers of, accent pillows, and a comforter. Now, all I need are some more decorative accents, sheets, knobs for the nightstand drawers and curtains.  I'm excited to see the finished product but here is some of my pinspiration:

...others. Someone once told me that in life you will have enough of two things: money and encouragement.  I try to be sensitives to the people around me and recognize when they might need some encouragement to get them through a rough day, a dry season, or  just "because". There have been a number of times where I felt in my heart to send a bit of encouragement via text to a friend and I've always received a message back saying something along the line of , "you have no idea how much that meant to me", or "that was just what I needed."  I think I enjoy giving others encouragement because it is often the very thing that I need myself.  It's kind of like the Golden Rule type: Treat others the way you want to be treated.  Love to be loved. Help to be helped. Give to be given. Encourage to be encouraged. It's quite simple.

...on a new project that I hope will be a success. I don't want to give away all the details just yet, but just know that it involves encouragement being sent straight to your inbox. I am also dreaming up something creative for this and working out the details to have a few downloads available as well. So be sure to check back and make sure you sign up to be added to the list to receive the newsletter so you can be updated!

...on apples and almond butter. If you know me at all, you know that I'm a snacker and I love fruit. Lately, I've had a thing for apples and  Justin's honey almond butter. Once again, if you know me, you know that fuji apples are one of my  f a v o r i t e  apples. They are crispy and crunchy, juicy and sweet and just perfect. Combine that with the salty, sweet, and slightly crunchy almond butter and you have sheer perfection for  a snack. Seriously, I'm in love. Justin's is also clever for their perfectly sized  squeeze packs of nut butters. Please, do yourself a favor and grab and apple and almond butter squeeze pack the next time you go to the store. You're taste buds will thank you.

What are some things  you've been up to this month?

I hope you have a fantastic Friday and enjoy the weekend ahead.
